Can you tell a story?
How packaging your story impacts it's reception
Sometimes it’s worth going back to old content.
If you face a particular challenge look at your favorite creators and check if they have created something about your question. That’s what helped me to design the launch campaign for the Orbit YouTube channel.
Colin and Samir’s Great Intro Checklist of 2023

In the latest episode of Creator Support a viewer asked: Does anyone have a checklist they've put together for the first minute of a video?
Prompted by this question Colin put together a checklist for what every video intro should do.
I. Confirm the click
Confirm to the viewer that the video matches with the expectations set in the packaging
II. Introduce New Narratives and Open Loops
Once they’re reaffirmed now you open a new loop that creates a new narrative that the audience wasn't expecting so their mind stays active.
III. Establish Singularity
Whenever possible always take the opportunity to include a line that show that the video is something that the viewer can only get on this channel. That you are the only one who can share this story
Storytelling is a Superpower

This episode of The futur podcast has been one of the most eye opening conversations about story I’ve ever heard. Michael Margolis shared a lot of insights and explained how to effectively tell your story. There is even a live coaching session at the end. But my favorite quotes from it is: Data is the story of the path Disruption is a story about the future.
Ever heard of Zachary Smigel?

Never had I.
A week ago he had 650 subscribers on his channel about internet lore.
But a video about his dissatisfaction with the current YouTube algorithm catapulted him into the stratosphere.
The video titled: I promise, this video belongs here - despite foregoing current packaging trends it gained almost 3 Million views in a week and compelled 56.000 people to subscribe.
It’s rare to witness explosive growth like this in the moment but it shows that overnight success is still possible. Yet it always comes on the back of years of prior experience or as Chase Jarvis likes to say: I’m a ten year overnight success.
