How to create what you want #Issue 12

Reviving channels, AI Music and Solo Filmmaking

Oribt’s Launch Crew Season is officially over but we got two more bonus episodes coming out that will give you an insight to the channels origin story.
Tune in on Monday Nov. 20th 6pm CET to catch the full story.

Aside from that I made the decision to use Instagram like it’s 2015 and just share photos whenever meeting a creator. No more need to be fancy.

How to revive a channel

WheezyWaiter, the popular YouTube personality, recently sat down with Patreon’s Jack Conte, to talk about a pivotal moment in his channel's trajectory. After stagnating at 500K subscribers for years, Craig Benzine aka WheezyWaiter decided to take a risk and change the format of his videos. This risky move, characterized by longer content, marked a turning point that started his trajectory to the 1 million subscriber milestone.

He credits his success to a combination of factors. Firstly, he emphasizes the importance of having a clear purpose behind the content. By defining his direction, he was able to connect more authentically with his audience. In addition he highlights the power of simplicity, which actually benefits the creator and audience.

While his unique personality is what draws people to his videos he is contemplating yet another shift. Considering a move towards creating content about people other than himself. This evolution showcases his willingness to explore new creative avenues while maintaining the core elements that made him successful in the first place.

Generative AI for music is here

Imagine you could hum a melody and instantly get a fully orchestrated version. That’s what Google DeepMind is envisioning with two experiments.

In collaboration with YouTube, they aim to empower creators to craft the perfect musical backdrop for their short-form content through the experiment called Dream Track. Additionally, they're offering artists and songwriters a broader set of tools to enhance their creative process.

According to Google DeepMind, these initiatives have been developed in close collaboration with artists and the music industry, ensuring widespread benefits. The goal is to maximize the advantages of generative music technologies while carefully addressing potential risks, emphasizing the importance of best-in-class safeguards.

The provided examples have certainly piqued my curiosity, but the big question remains: Is this the end of music as we know it, or is it the next leap in audio creativity? The intersection of technology and music opens up exciting possibilities, but the debate on how these innovations will shape the future of music is sure to strike a chord among casual enthusiasts and music professionals.

Telling stories with images

Matthew Encina is a creative director and designer who has been a huge influence on my creator journey with his calm yet engaging videos about his workspace design. In his most recent video he goes into detail on the process for creating high-quality video that tells a story.

Through a step-by-step breakdown, he shares his process of idea generation, planning, and scripting for each of his episodes. It's behind the scenes look into the mind of a seasoned creator. For solo creators sculpting visually appealing videos complemented by voice overs, this video is a goldmine of insights.

Encina's ability to seamlessly blend aesthetics with storytelling is not only educational but also inspiring. So, if you're navigating the realm of solo content creation, I highly recommend giving this video a watch.
