Jubilee, Reinvention and a Baby Squirrel
I hope you are well and are staring to slow down a bit. This was the final workweek of the year before going on a much needed vacation, filled with family time, good food and festivities. Nevertheless the newsletter should continue to land in your inbox with some highlights of 2023. Wishing you Happy Holidays and I’m excited for 2024

Rapid Testing to Build a Media Empire
Love it or hate it but you probably have seen a Jubilee Video. Their content pits people against each other and plays into stereotypes we all have. This incredibly divisive strategy has grown a rag-tag team of five to a media powerhouse with 13 million followers and an annual eight-figure revenue, growing at an astounding 100% year-over-year. The core of their success is a unique ideation process.
Initiated with a 24-hour brainstorming session, Jubilee generated 800 show ideas. As long as one idea would stand out it was all worth it. Once they idenditfy a winning idea they follow a few simple steps
Invest minimal resources in creating an MVP format,
Test a pilot on YouTube,
Double down on the successes
Kill the rest.
This approach, akin to a venture lab for media lead to their breakthrough format "Versus 1" 20 vs 1: Speed Dating 20 Girls promptly became to #2 on YouTube's Trending.
This rapid ideation process is still the backbone of their output leading to 3 videos a week and launching new show pilots every month.
Nathaniel Drew 4.0
Nathaniel Drew is coming back from a break with a message about his reinvention. One thing that always fascinated me about him is his very clear intentionality. Often Creators slide into different phases by chance but Nathan seems to put a lot of though into his content shifts and wants to move even more into creating cinematic videos.
Have you ever sat down and thought about a content shift?
Baby Squirrels are the cutest
Danni Connor Wild has become one of my favorite comfort creators and now she started a series of rescuing a baby squirrel. Which is just the best thing on the internet right now (imho). There is really not much more to say.
