How to suceed as a Content Creator?

Cleo Abram, Creator Support and a regular guy

Just as I was writing this newsletter I opened up threads to look for engaging posts I saw this week and instead I saw a fellow creator venting about writers block and asking for hacks to overcome that resistance. Here is how I manage to write this newsletter every week since last September:

Hack 1: I start from the bottom, so with the simplest content.
Hack 2: Put on headphones and play a 1-hour DJ set.
When that's done, the newsletter is done.
Hack 3: Write to one person.
Start with Hi NAME and end with all the best, Your Name.
The rest writes itself.

Hope that helps you get things done.

Quit Your Job - The Right Way

How do you quit a reputable job, build one of the fastest growing education channel and get to see top secret NASA projects? Cleo Abram, the creator behind Huge if True, has done just that and in a conversation with Jon Youshaei they go into great detail of how she has done all of that with a small team and little financial risk.

What I found most eye opening is to see the exact process she follows for each video to make sure that the video has everything to be relevant to the largest amount of people. She also explains how she reaches out to big government agencies and gets more yes than no replies.

No matter where you are on your creator journey I recommend you give this a watch to level up your own systems.

Know when to call it

For all of 2023 Colin and Samir answered creator questions directly on the Creator Support channel. Taking it from 0 to almost 30K subscribers and every video getting tens of thousands of views. That’s pretty good for a “two dudes talking podcast”.
To start the channel was only supported by AdSense and they didn’t bring on a sponsor until the summer, after they launched their discord community. While this move was an attempt to diversify their business endeavors, it seems the return on investment didn't quite match the effort poured in.
Although the creator duo has made it clear that the channel isn't going anywhere and that they'll continue answering individual questions, it's likely their focus will shift towards their Creator Startup Course Business.

Share Your Story

Kuya Gian is a regular guy who started a YouTube Channel just a few months ago and in his recent video he shares the benefits that has to average people. Not everybody needs to be public about their life to gain a large following. But even if no one is watching it, putting yourself online creates opportunities worth exploring. That simple message is what resonated with a lot of other people. 90K People to be precise and it’s a perfect example that no matter how “normal” you might feel you still have a story to tell and there are other people out there that can relate to your specific situation. Sharing that story matters.
