Gerald Undone, Becca Farsace and AI conversations
Your weekly collection of curated content delivering insights for navigating life as a content creator.
Berlin here we come! In 3 weeks I’ll be co-hosting the next meetup for creators and marketers in the EU’s biggest city. If you are in the area I’d love to see you there.

The Other Side of Product Reviews
In a new entry to the ethics of product reviews conversations, Gerald Undone adds his voice to give us the perspective of a creator and how (camera) brands deal with honest reviews.
The current system relies heavily on press events and embargoes that creators have to work around. In his words, this system is flawed and leads to less objective and balanced reviews.
While it’s not surprising that brands do anything they can to present their products in the best light, the difference in how they react to critical voices is what people entering the space should pay attention to.
It’s easy to be wowed by free products, fancy events, or simply access to gear if you are entering that space. However, it’s crucial to maintain your own perspective and values, as having a clear standpoint is what makes people follow you.
As new products get released, I’m sure we’ll see other entries in this conversation.
Covering the Creators
Becca Farsace, best known for testing camera and lifestyle gear for The Verge, is branching out to cover the people who use these tools in a new series called Full Frame Creators.
The first installment features Unnecessary Inventions and covers his slightly chaotic production process. I really enjoy this blend between a classic interview, studio tour, and day-in-a-life vlog. Now, I just hope it does well so Becca gets to cover more creators.
Are Creators Ready for A.I. Conversations?
Jonny Keely shows us the potential of interacting with ChatGPT just by talking to it and how that could completely change our relationship to it.
Moving away from text based chats to interacting with AI in a much more natural way opens up completely new possibilities. What’s surprising is that the version used in the video is still the current generation, yet it already feels incredibly conversational.
As a lot of creators work by themselves this might open up ways to brainstorm, talk about ideas or improve scripts—just by reading them out loud and asking for feedback.
