How to create with confidene
The calm creative, Ultraspeaking, Ottile
Working on my longest video yet during the hottest week of the year yet is a particular kinda challenge 🥵 So I’m very greatful for having access to a co-working space that is climate controled.
I hope you’re staying cool and productive or are enjoying some well deserved time off.

Create with confidence
The conversation with Louise Stigell is the longest interview I have published yet, and it could’ve been even longer. So, in the next few days, there will be a bonus chapter that is just about her newsletter insights.
One key aspect I want to highlight here is how she started YouTube as an absolute beginner.
In an effort to create something with as little pressure as possible, she asked herself: “What would be the minimum viable YouTube video?”
For her, that meant publishing a video that was just a speed paint of a bird, sped up with a bit of music on top.
That was her starting point. To make the process easier, she created a difficulty ladder for herself, inspired by video games. If the speed painting video was level one, then level two was sharing her art progress with text subtitles. For level three, she added a voice-over, and it wasn’t until her sixth video that she stepped in front of the camera.
Creating this gamified experience for herself allowed her to get started and build confidence over time. Instead of trying to start with a nerve-wracking talking-head video, remove some pressure and focus on one small, manageable step.
If you haven’t shared anything yet—what would be your minimum viable video? I’d love to know.

10x Your Speaking Skills
I’ve long been a fan of Ultraspeaking, a platform that helps you become a better communicator. It’s one of the tools that made me much more comfortable speaking to a camera and in front of an audience.
Now, they have just launched a completely free email course that will help you 10x your public speaking skills—in just a few days. I signed up for it as soon as I got the invite, and the intro of the video with Louise is a direct result of the first lesson.
If you want to get better at communicating your ideas, I highly recommend you check it out. It's a fantastic resource for anyone looking to enhance their public speaking abilities and connect more effectively with their audience.

Can loneliness be good?
As creators, loneliness is a common problem, but could that be a good thing? Is there a way to draw energy from solitude rather than being burdened by it?
In her latest video, Ottilie argues that you are actually not spending enough time with yourself. She sees it as an opportunity to grow the relationship with yourself, deepening the understanding of who you are and where you want to be. Being physically alone doesn’t mean you are lonely. Instead, it can be a chance to connect more deeply with your inner self.

Intros are hard
I recently share on LinkedIn how bad the retention drop off on some of my videos can be and in response Hasaan actualy completly reworked one of my intros.
I’d love to know if you prefer this verison over the published one. Maybe we should hire him …
