It’s Okay to Take a Break

Taking a break isn’t just a luxury. It’s essential. In these pauses that we rediscover what drives us and why we started in the first place.

The last few days seemed like a glimpse into the proper Creator lifestyle. I went from a conference in Berlin to a meeting in Paris and woke up to an brand collaboration email.

But it’s also the first week I broke my video publishing streak. Even tho I have a video ready to go, I just had to make thumbnail. All I cared to do yesterday was sit on the couch and chill. Maybe I’ll still release something today …

Step Back to Move Forward

So talking about the need to cozy up and be a potato, there’s a lot of pressure as a creator to keep up momentum, to maintain a consistent and to constantly publish content. I certainly felt it, especially after wrapping up the second season of my Orbit. I was certain I could keep that streak going until the end of the year. But recently, I’ve hit a wall, and I want to be honest with you about it.

The truth is, I’ve felt uninspired. After finishing the second season, I thought I could keep moving forward by releasing clips and sharing some personal insights but it all felt a bit flat. Overall the excitement just wasn’t there.

A big part of it, I realized, is that I stopped consuming content. I haven’t discovered any creators recently who truly excite me, and if I’m interviewing someone, I need to be genuinely excited about them, right? Without that everything feels forced.

That’s why I decided not to publish yesterday. To allowing myself to binge content again. To find new people, new voices, and new ideas that we can all learn from. Sometimes, we need to shift gears from “creator mode” to “audience mode” in order to reignite that flame.

But even with that realization, there’s still the fear of losing momentum. The Lift Off Season as I called it had consistency in tone, style and frequency but right now, things feel a bit random. That consistency is what so many of you have commented on. That’s ultimately why I decided not to publish.

Because what’s the point of adding to the endless ocean of content if neither you nor the audience is excited for it? That’s why taking a break isn’t just a luxury; it’s essential. It’s in these pauses that we rediscover what drives us and why we started in the first place.

For me, this pause is about finding inspiration again. I already have a few calls set up, but for now, I’m still searching for the next theme. As always it will emerge out of a combination of reflection and creating.

So if you’re feeling tired, uninspired, or stuck—let this be your reminder that it’s okay to take a break. The world won’t stop spinning, and you’ll come back more excited when you’re ready.

Take care of yourself.

And when you’re ready, pick up right where you left off.
