Who runs YouTube?
The new CEO, Drones and exploration
This week I spend with Wojtek somewhere in the mountains to film the final episode of Orbit’s Launch Crew Season. It’s been a fun few days creating, cooking and chilling together. That made it crystal clearer that we have to organize a getaway for more creators next year.
The future of YouTube and the man behind it
Colin and Samir have become the go to creators for YouTube to communicate the platforms long term plans and how it benefits creators. So they got to sit down with Neal Mohan who took on the role of CEO earlier this year.
In this hour long conversation they cover a lot of ground to get as many answers as possible to questions creators have. Starting with the validity of short form monetization but more importantly it gives viewers an insight to who the CEO of YouTube is as a real person. Many people were concerned when he took over but looking at the videos comment section seem like people are getting a whole new appreciation for him and how he sees the future of the platform.
If you are in any shape of form using YouTube to build a business or grow an audience this is a must watch.
How to film yourself while running?

Getting someone to help you to film a video can be a hustle. But what if you could pull out a tiny drone from your pocket and turn it into your personal videographer? Louis Cole (FunForLouis) gave the Hover Air X1 a 26-mile (42 km) test ride and the footage is impressive. You can set the drone to follow you from behind or from the front, it can circle around you, and more. All you need is to press a button and set it free. No need to use your phone to drive it, which is especially handy for all creators making sports or travel content. Well, that's one more piece of tech I'm putting on my wish list!
