Your 1 page YouTube strategy for 2025.

A dead simple framework to crush your goals this year

Hi Friend đź‘‹

Being fully back at work feels good but I completely underestimated how hard it would be to get back into the groove. My content calendar had a video scheduled for every week of January to continue the Friends Series.

That… didn’t happen.
Now, my confidence in releasing any videos this month is pretty low. Once again reminding me of Mike Tyson’s famous line:

Everyone has a plan, until they get punched in the face.

In this spirit I also changed the topic for today’s issue. After being blown away by Paddy Galloway’s dead simple one page strategy plan I just had to share it with you.

How is your January shaping up?
I’d love to hear about your wins or struggles this month.

One-page YouTube strategy for 2025.

The 12 month YouTube growth plan

Non-negotiable actions

  • Study YouTube for 1 hour a day, schedule it

  • Ideate 50-100 ideas for every idea you make

  • Make 3 differentiated thumbnails per video

  • Study retention curves for each video

Phase 1: Establishing the foundation (January): Review 2024 performance and identify top 10% of videos on your channel. For new channels, analyze close competitors. Use these high performers as the foundation for the next phase.

Phase 2: Building early year momentum (Feb-April): Ideate around these top 10% videos. We're focusing on proven ideas to build early year momentum. Avoid taking risks during this phase. This becomes our base.

Phase 3: Taking the big swings (May-Aug): With momentum high, now is the time to experiment. Pursue ambitious and original ideas - take big swings. Balance this risk by continuing to include steady performers from the previous phase.

Phase 4: Double down, maximize $ (Sept-Dec): Ad rates peak in Q4, so we double down. From the big swings taken earlier, I identify the best performers and turn them into content buckets. Crank out repeat videos in these buckets. Increase upload frequency by as much as 100%+ during Q4. Please Like and Retweet to support my work. Note: This is one of various strategies that can work, we will be following it with one of our largest clients for 2025.

What I love about this is the simple breakdown in phases and to focus on a specific area for a dedicated period of time.

So this weekend I’ll be taking a sincere look at the videos on the channel that resonated with you and the ones that didn’t capture your attention.

Join me in this quest to keep crushing it in 2025!

Community spotlight

Rania has been following Orbit since day one and continues to amaze me with her ability to create cinematic vlogs—all while working full-time in finance.

Meeting her last September was a definitely a highlight of my year, and now she’s shared that experience in a video. Showing the power of documenting your life, even if it’s just for yourself.

To get featured in one of the next issues just give me a shout out on your channels.
Don’t forget to send it over so I definitely see it. I’d love to highlighting your creativity in this community of creators that genuinely care.

New Creators to Watch

I asked you on LI and YT for creators to follow and here are my favs.

kilrobbailey has been recommended to me by Matthew Bliss and this is definitely YouTube growth advice unlike anything I’ve ever seen before.

Jet Lag: The Game is neither new nor unknown but after a recommendation from Sava Hansman I’ll finally check it out

Live like Liz might just be the slow productivity vibes I need right now and was recommended by Marie Y

Who inspires you most these days?

Side Quests:

As part of a commitment to refine my systems this year I started to implement the idea of Main Quests and Side Quests into my productivity system.

After just a week of using it it’s probably already my favorite ways of organizing to-do’s.
