The Reddit-GPT Loop: Your Shortcut to Knowing Your Audience

Struggling to decide what content to make next? Or how to stand out in a crowded niche? Here's the truth: once you truly understand your audience, every decision gets easier.

Hey there đź‘‹

Are you locked in for Mai or still wondering what happened in April? For me it’s kind of the latter.

During a little retrospection yesterday I realized I only had one week at full capacity. The others where littered with interruptions that took me out of the flow.

Unfortunately that also shows on the channel. Only 2 videos published with mid results. Both have a very strong long term value tho - So I’ll just sit here and watch the graph go up (eventually)

Hope your April was more productive than that.

What’s your audience’s problem?

Once you know who is watching your content, or at least who you want to be watching everything becomes a lot easier. I’m sure you’ve heard that before.

Choosing between two titles?
Asking what video to make?
Finding sponsors?

With your audience in mind this becomes crystal clear.
But getting there can be challenging.

If you haven't thought about that yet, you can skip all the common audience avatar workshops and go straight to visualizing a moodboard. I found that to be way more effective.

Now the real work starts - figuring out what your audience actually wants, needs and desires.

Ideally you are already part of your audience and know a fair bit of the challenges and tribulations. You can also make some calls and ask people directly about their experience. But what if there was an easier way with better faster results?

That is where I discovered a tiny cheat code that unlocked an avalanche of new insights for me.

Combining reddit with chatgpt and asking one specific question.

Summarize common frustrations and problems expressed by Reddit users in this subreddit

Output: Bullet list of top 10 pain points based on frequency with accurate user's quotes

Reading over the output will make it 10 times easier to pick a title or video topic and if you apply this over time, booking sponsors should become unbelievably simple.

This should work on the free and paid plans of chat and return a accurate list of real world pain points your audience is dealing with.

I know this involves using two tools not everyone is familiar with but just give it a go and tell me this wasn’t helpful.

Ok that’s it for today.

My favorite content this week

I’m always excited when Gerald Undone uploads a new studio tour. And this one features the ultimate one stand set up.

I accidentally fell into a game development rabbit whole and discovered Juniper dev. While I find all her videos very enjoyable to watch this one hits different.

I never thought someone would explain philosophies with the example of video games. No matter which side you are coming from this is a enlightening watch.
