Bet on Yourself
If you can’t bet on yourself, who can you bet on?
Hi Friend 👋
If you can’t bet on yourself, who can you bet on?
I knew this line was powerful when I first heard it during my conversation with Jason Howell, a podcaster with 20 years of experience and the first Orbit community member to be on the show.
But after spending 10+ hours editing it it has really seared itself into my brain.
To make this not just a statement on a vision board I’m talking a bold move to make sure the bet can pay off.
I had to come to terms that over the last couple months I was distracted and pulled into a thousand different directions. Pulling focus away from what really matters.
Building a YouTube channel that creators who want to thrive and build a kingdom of their own can call home.
With this renewed focus I realized that I made a fatal mistake.
Since starting Orbit almost two years ago I tried to pull people out of YouTube. By signing up for a newsletter, coming to an event and yes, even joining a community for solo creators.
But it’s not really a party when you send everybody who comes in to another room.
So let’s change that and put all my efforts into the channel and nothing else.
Because if the YouTube channel isn’t visible in the creator culture than what’s the point of setting up all the fancy things inside?
So here is the plan to make a bet that can’t fail.
From June to September I’m creating a focused sprint called: 100 days of progress
Because 100 days is right a the edge of what you can actually plan for. Beyond that it quickly becomes fortune telling.
For me that means focusing for 100 days strictly on YouTube but focused sprints like this work even better if you are not doing them alone but with friends.
So this is not just me putting another sticky note on my wall. This will be a community exercise. You can just take this email as a prompt to partake or follow the progress as I share it on social.
If you know this is not going to move the needle for you because you need real feedback and a kick in a butt to keep going you can still get one of the 14 remaining founding member seats in the community.
Inside it’s not about promoting what you published but about refining the whole system behind it. Nudging you towards your big hairy audacious goal.
If this sounds like something you need right now, I’d love to have you on board.
Because once the sprint is on the door to the community will close until Fall.
💛 Valentin
Thank you for reading.
PS: Words like these are what keep the fire burning inside.
