Best Creator Tools
What’s your tech stack?!
Well, let me tell you …
Okay, the tools I use the most are DaVinci Resolve, Notion, and Photoshop (again).
But there are also a few lesser known tools I use regularly to make content creation just a little bit easier. Not surprisingly they all have some level of AI built in.

ClickPilot
If there is one tool that helped me the most in developing the visual identity of Orbit it’s hands down ClickPilot! It’s the most comprehensive tool for looking at thumbnails and titles in context and comparing them to real examples. Just as I was writing this the app moved out of beta and now has a free and a paid tier. The free version let’s you compare your title and thumbnail to trending videos, which is great to start but I immediately upgraded to the pro version that let’s you compare it to specific channels and search terms plus you can start a collection of thumbnails that act as benchmarks.
If you want to get better at making thumbnails I highly recommend you check it out.
Google Recorder
This is an android exclusive but I’m sure there is something comparable on iOS. To me Google Recorder has been the most useful application of AI. On the surface it’s a very simple voice recorder but it live transcribes whats spoken into written text and crucially labels speakers. So not only can I record ideas for scripts and emails on the go to iterate on them later but it also lends itself to podcast creation.
Like when I recorded with Tom I simultaneously recorded it on my phone and could then listen back to it on the plane back. I just wish google would integrate all their apps better so I could make a google doc out of it automatically and start generating titles and articles from it right there with bard …. maybe next year
Uppbeat
Where do you find good free music? Every Creator asked at some point. The answer to me is simply Uppbeat. Their free tier gives new creators plenty high quality tracks to choose from and pro users get unlimited music and sfx to add to multiple channels. It even has an AI based playlist generator for the times you don’t quite know what you are looking for.
